I'm with Chris. A Vireo for most anything in three season in the PNW. The thing packs down to the size of a Nalgene bottle too. If it gets cold, the alpine buddy spoon rule applies.
I took a -25 up in May and was pretty happy. You might be able to get away with a -10 in June.
Man...are FF bags the less expensive choice nowadays? Crazy.
Boy Figger Eight, that's a great deal on an awesome parka! If I needed one, I'd be all over it. I know people are starting to plan their Denali trips right now - this parka is the one they need
That's the deal: you can't walk up the ski track any more. They've shut down that trail to uphill traffic. I imagine another track will have to be set in on the other side of the valley.
I know a couple of cases where plastic shovels broke. The weight savings is not that much - go with metal. If you're using it just for skiing, going with a smaller one is okay. If it's going with you on expeditions - get a bigger one.
Yeah...hammer down on that rear ski for sure. Pay attention to the gap between your knees. If you're having trouble pressuring that back ski, you might be throwing your leg too far back - a very common error with beginners. Right on though...keep on tele'ing!
That's a great start. How good it becomes will depend on the quality of the content and contributions. That's why this site stinks like a pair sweaty climbing shoes.
