  1. I was up this last week. The Standard was thin and delaminating, but doable. Mr Coffee was wet, but in better shape. Didn't make it up to Gate Creek, but my guess is that it's wet, too.
  2. Did you lose your camera on Chair Peak? Do you take gratuitous selfies all the time? If so, I found your camera on the avy chunder just above the Thumbtack. It survived what I assume to be several weeks in the snow (last pic around the 7th). Tell me what kind of camera and you can have it back.

  6. I've picked up way too much gear over the past two months. I need to get rid of it so I can afford more hand size cams for summer alpine. I had posted this a week or two ago, but I didn't get any emails on it, so I the chopped prices, so let's try this again... I'll definitely consider any reasonable offers. 9. Nepal Extremes and Trangos are going to be picked up next week.
  10. Pics at http://picasaweb.google.com/briannahartzell/ForSale#'>http://picasaweb.google.com/briannahartzell/ForSale# La Sportiva Nepal Extremes, size 42= men's 8-8.5 women's 9.5 (runs small- about a true 41-41.5), good condition, come with lots of memories: Bugaboos, Ouray, N. Cascades, first water ice lead, etc. I'm just tired of kicking ice in boots that fit my feet like rock shoes. Thousands of miles left to go. They need a good home. A new pair goes for $475. I'll sell mine for $175. La Sportiva Trango S Evo, sixe 42, red, gore-tex. These boots are practically brand new. I've just been breaking them in on trails. <20 miles on them. They cost $289 new, I'll sell mine for $200. Scarpa T-2 two buckle telemark boot, size 25 (men's 7.5, women's 9) Super light weight, great for touring, tons and tons of life left; I'm just done skiing with my toes curled over. $ 75 Patagonia micro-puff jacket, women's large (equivalent to Men's S/M). I ordered this a size up to fit it over layers. Turns out Patagonia was way ahead of me. I usually wear a small/medium, and I can swim in this one. It's probably a regular women's XL. Perfect for an over layer, plenty warm. I wore it for a couple weeks in the Bugaboos, one tiny snag at the bottom near the zipper, no holes. Great shape, clean, ready to go. New= $180, Mine= $100 La Sportiva Cliff rock shoes, size 39.5 Great all around shoes, stiff sole. I've found I much prefer a soft shoe. Personal preference. These shoes are practically new. They've been out maybe a dozen times. New $90, yours for $50 Pictures are at http://picasaweb.google.com/briannahartzell/ForSale# PM me if you have any questions!
  11. I'm looking to trade a left goretex red trango boot size 42 for a 42.5 Anybody else out there have slightly different sized feet and want to make their life more comfortable? Brianna
  12. That'd be an awesome ride! I found my beta.... in the 1938 CAJ. Did you know that the Seattle Public Library has a darn near complete set of AAJ and CAJ's!? That was news to me, but MEGA handy. Also, non-members are allowed to use the Mountaineer's Library in Magnuson Park. It's been a pretty redonkulous beta quest, but I was successful. Desire Mountain is NW of the Monarch Icefield, so access ends up being a little different. I've applied for a couple AAC grants to cover a helo drop off and pick up. We'll see!! Wish me luck!
  13. Hey y'all, I'm looking for some beta on the Monarch Ice Field in the BC coast range. Anybody in the know? Anybody know anybody in the know? Cheers, Bri
  14. I borrowed a pair of quarks and proto cobras for the winter from the Seattle reps. I've climbed 15+ day on each pair in the last 2 months. I've tweaked both sets of picks. The quarks are way easier to clean, which I'm going to attribute to a significantly more beveled cutting edge. We've had some chilly days here in Ouray, so I just narrowed the cutting edge and point to cut down on dinnerplate-age. It worked great. The BD picks are a piece of work. Bust out the tunes and a brew, pull up the crazy creek chair, and bevel the shit out of just about everything. I left the aggressiveness of the teeth intact. You barely need to flick your wrist to get 'em to stick, and I'm cool with that. I took a bunch off the sides of the teeth, though, which is the more tedious part, in addition to narrowing both the front of the point and the cutting edge. The work paid off, but it was a pain in the adze.
