More details to come in the next few days to week. SausageFest is scheduled for Sunday Nov. 15 at Shultzy's restaurant in Seattle. For those of you don't know about this, or forgot what happened when you were there, this is our big slide show/party we try to put on every year. I know we haven't done this for a few years so we have a little something special planned for this one. PUT this on your calendar, you WILL NOT miss this event.

What is beer situation?

Historically it has been pretty favorable to those who come, and I can't see it being any different this year. There will be a drink special. Shultzys arguably has one of the best sets of rotating taps in Seattle. It's not uncommon for them to have one of two kegs on the westcoast of something from Europe.

It's in a city near a park. Right? Can anyone imagine their fingers in that flare above the zig. I think it's only 3 times lead. Right? Better yet. See if you can name the route and the three people in the world who have lead it.

No, I'm pretty sure that's near the topout on that one route on Rainier. Whats that route called again?

Yeah, I figured it was City Park. Let's see, Todd Skinner led it first, and I can't remember the other two off the top of my head. One was a double amputee though.

Okay, I just looked it up, but I won't spoil the fun.

EDIT: I think there were 4 free ascents...

I think someone's kid recently freed it on TR as well. Not sure who that might be though

Watts was the man, but if you didn't send, doesn't really count. Hell, I've "lead" the thing...it was 5.10 C1+ for me.

But you do a great disservice to Mike Shaeffer, who got the second redpoint, by leaving him off your list. Skinner did not climb the full line, detouring around some .11 in the upper half...survey says, no send or send of easier variation at best.

IMO, your list should go something like:

Skinner: freed cruxes, failed to redpoint.
Watts: freed cruxes, failed to redpoint.
Hugh Herr: Sent, but controversy over prosthetic feet used.
Shaeffer: First send with no controvesy.

Hey folks seriously make sure you come on Sunday, please tell all your climbing friends, send out emails, facebook it, tweet it, spray paint it on police cars, WHATEVER! We have put a lot of work into this and it's going to be a really great event. Great food, a f'ing AMAZING beer "special", TONS of stuff to raffle off (can someone say Camalots?), some pretty awesome slide presenters like your American Alpine Club President. You will not miss this!

We still have some space available if you want to show your slides. We want to stay true to our event and make sure that everyone who wants to show has the opportunity. Send me a PM if you are interested.

I'm personally donating a few of the North Cascade National Park poster to the raffle. They also may be available for sale at the event. All proceeds of the sale of them goes to the WCC Index Fund as well.

Sausagefest was excellent! Great to see so many familiar faces ... and meet some new ones. :-)

Thanks to everyone who showed up and donated money. Hope everyone had a great time, glad we were able to get this event back on track. I don't have a final count yet but we raised somewhere in the neighborhood of $1500.

We did have 3 people walk out without paying their food bill, which we got stuck with. We know who you are. Since this was obviously an accident please get in touch with us and we'll get it figured out.

i'm looking forward to the day that the Index Lower Town wall is in the bank. Thanks for participating in another step towards making this happen!

It was so sweet of Fred Beckey to graciously invite us to spend the night at his house and so we did. Only got back to PDX this morning!
