She has photographed the construction of Safeco Field, komodo dragons in Indonesia, Tarahumara Indians in Mexico, salmon underwater, Microsoft execs, and humpback whales. Fobes has received over 200 awards. She was a Pulitzer finalist, received an Alicia Patterson Fellowship, won the Scripps Howard Meeman Award and was second in World Press. She also co-founded Blue Earth Alliance, a non-profit foundation dedicated to helping photographers pursue stories about endangered environments and threatened cultures.
