talking alpine or craggin? your choices of oatmeal and apples don't point to any particular sport. who eats oatmeal while craggin? and apples in alpine?

alpine breakfast - fried bagels w oil and cheese and precooked bacon

alpine during day - lots of those cheap little granola bars, cheese, snickers, more bagels w salami

alpine dinner - lipton rice meals w chicken bag. more oil and cheese.

mentality of alpine - fat and carbs

jelly beans aka "redneck energy gels"

bodybuilders weightgainer powder - a 1000 calorie serving of hot chocolate, with abundant electrolyte profile -- I've done entire weekend alpine trips on this and nothing else

stovetop dressing -- just add hot water & jerky, tuna, or whatever -- cheap no-cook meal

This is the stuff I almost never bring back out of the hills (i.e. I eat it first):

Landjaeger

Cheese

Dark Chocolate (w/ nuts, caramel, sea salt, or whatever)

Ramen noodles (don't judge)

dried fruit

Whiskey/Scotch of any type

I always bring way too many bars, especially on long trips. Real food is where it is at.

dark choc, dried fruit and nuts are a lot of things I take. The scotch I do not take but might have to take a cheeky bit next time I walk now lol
