FS: Vintage Alpine Designs Goose Down Filled Parka

Recommended Posts

Full on winter parka for very cold temperatures. Made in Boulder, CO by Alpine Designs (George Lamb and Alpine Designs - http://www.oregonphotos.com/Alp-Sport1.html). This is a used parka that has been brought up to snuff with some repairs. Minimal stains on the fabric and no grime on the collar:

- New sleeve cuffs.

- Restitched seams, on right and left pockets and reinforced zipper stitching.

- Tenacious Tape applied onto 2 worn spots and a ripstop patch over a small tear.

- Added goose down to left, hand warmer pocket (it was a little skimpy).

- There is some color fading.

Features:

- Double offset quilt construction for a continuous layer of goose down insulation. Each outside stitch line is backed with an inside down pocket.

- Parka length covers the buttocks.

- Removable hood.

- Double toggle (2 way) , HD #10 YKK plastic tooth type zipper. Zipper runs smoothly.

- Zipper has an interior and outside insulated draft seal.

- Cargo/hand warmer pockets.

- 1.9 ounce ripstop nylon, the standard of the day.
