  1. Looking for some adventure buddies in the Spokane area. I do some technical climbing at the crags but my goals are more oriented towards glacier mountaineering, scrambles, and some non-technical off-trail destinations. I'm experienced in glacier travel and have climbed Baker and Rainier multiple times, as well as many other classic peaks in the N. Cascades. Intermediate routes like the Kautz, Frostbite Ridge on Glacier Peak, west ridge of Stuart, etc... appeal to me. Have not been around the Selkirks or the Cabinets much yet but would like to see more. I'm a reliable guy in my early 30s who doesn't like to let a good high pressure system go to waste. PM me if you want to collaborate
  2. What is "butt rock"? Is there an agreed upon definition?
  3. Planning on a Rainier climb via the Kautz within the next couple weeks. Just wanted to hear opinions on descending the route vs. a carryover to the DC. I guess my main concern is being underneath an ice cliff later in the day in the case of a Kautz descent, but I'm not sure how much of an objective hazard that poses these days.
  4. Definitely agree. The scenarios really help you get the system down for how to manage situations. That was the biggest take home for me rather than the specifics for treating this or that particular injury or illness.
  5. I think his term might be shortened when some of that kompromat Russia has on him somehow finds its way out...
  6. Can anyone tell me if the straight-shafted BD X-15 tools are compatible with the current picks they sell? Thanks.
  7. Uh... that is weird. Why does it spell out l-i-b-e-r-a-l when I write in l-i-b-t-a-r-d? The supreme court has roundly rejected prior restraint.
  8. Cool! After a period of absence from CC, I come back only to find that the Libtard Parade has run its course and there is fresh spray! How about a Bernie/Paul match up? That would be cool, right?
  9. How about a crag cat instead? Climbing Cat
  10. Very true. I however strive to break the DNA bonds that confine me (I guess all I have to do is break a few hydrogen bonds really) and be the first of my species to be completely selfless, invisible, and will be completely sustained by air, perhaps through nitrogen fixation. I will defy human evolution and I will not film it or write a trip report about my transformation. But it is actually pretty cool, so I should at least mention it in spray.
  11. The new, more obtrusive and irritating incarnation of the Go Pro for self-important types.
  12. Remember this gem from last year? Cats are loyal critters. When they feel like it. [video:youtube]
  13. Fat cats are more humorous and charming than skinny cats, but someone told me about their cat getting diabetes. Not so fun.
  14. FW, I have seen you hold your own here and make some good points, but then you post something that looks like one of the chain emails my grandma ocasionally forwards me.
